The "Puja"

Part of any new venture in the Hindu religion requires the "Puja". A special "Priest" conducts a ceremony of blessing that is quite complicated and involves fire, water, smoke, bracelets, food, string, flowers, and colorful powders.
Here are some scenes from that ceremony. I got a wristband of gold string. I got a red dot put on my head, and was asked to stand and pass the smoke around the offerings on the floor. I don't understand the process, and don't know what all it means, but it is taken very seriously and is a requirement for a new venture. Essentially they are asking the gods to blease the facility.

The forhead is the "red dot", and the wrist is the string bracelet.
