This area is where many of the local people live. It was really kind of neat. They have court yards in the middle of the house, but they have community restrooms.
We traveled by rickshaw while we were in the Hutongs.

Nice living area. I love their transportation.
that would be neat to have a couryard in the middle of the house!! don't know that i am liking the 'community restroom' tho~
