Ambala City-The Lunch Stop

A small town near Gates served as our place for fine dining at lunchtime. The restaurant was not much by our standards, again, a lot of flies, but the food was good. We had boneless chicken in gravy, green salad, dahl, and buttered nan. We had ice cream for desert. Here are some pics of the area around the restaurant, and the man making the nan outside.

Enjoy all the different food while you are there. I have never been afraid to sample new foods but in Belize I was told of some things that were not for me to eat. Mom

Dahl is a kind of gravey made primarily of various kinds of vegetables/beans etc. Buttered Nan is a dowey type of bread sith butter on it. They also eat roti with dahl which is a "flat bread" of sorts. You rub the bread around in the gravy , and fold it to pick up some of the chunks. It is done with the right hand only. You gotta try it. it's loads of fun. Eating with your hands is very common here.
