20 Year Sobriety Celebration
On Saturday July 24th I celebrated 20 years of sobriety. Nickie planned a nice party for me, and made some yummy BBQ Pork along with meatballs, fruit, veggies, chips and the works, even cake! About 30-40 good AA friends joined us, and we had an open AA meeting in the back yard as part of the get-to-gether. It was a good time, and I feel blessed to have been given this gift of sobriety. I owe the credit to God, a loving family, and great friends in AA. My Sponsor (Larry) presented my chip, and Victor (one of my sponsees) and his wife Rosie joined in the celebration. It was a good time, and I look forward to many more.

Sites of The Black Hills
On our journey through Speerfish Canyon we stopped at a nice waterfall. We of course, also drove up to Mt. Rushmore. The tunnel that Danny is driving through frames Mt. Rushmore, but my cammera didn't catch it in the distance. While riding through Custer State Park we came accross a herd of wild donkeys that were begging food from the people in cars. On Iron Mountain road you can look straight down to see where you were a few minutes ago. We had a good time, and since it was Danny's first time out there, he was really lovin' it. Thank you God for what you have made and for allowing us to play in it.
Biking in the Mountains with Danny!!!
From 8/17 to 8/23 my dear friend since childhood, Danny, was visiting with us from the Chicago area. It has been 5-6 years since he has been able to come, and it was great to see him. We hung out, had some laughs, and took a little trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota to ride motorcycles. It was great! I hope you enjoy the pictures. We sat on the porch, and got up to speed with each other, played with the "big boy toys" in the garage, took a hot rod ride to one of my favorite "biker bars" for lunch, and let Danny play the big shot in my office. Then we had a chance to work together getting the motorhome and bikes ready for the journey to South Dakota.

The Chevy Roles!!!
Today Josh and I took the Chevy for her "maiden voyage". It was a little scarey, and exciting. (After all, we put her together.) We had an overheating problem, the heater leaked a bit, and we have choke issue that we have to solve. In tracking down a fuel problem, we ruined the fuel pump and will have to get a new one. On the whole, I am glad that it is running and driveable. I look forward to getting the rest of the bugs worked out on it. Pray for progress.
